My Bio
Hi, uh, all two of you reading this. I'm Jacob, an aerospace engineering major at the University of Texas. I like math and sciency things, as well as comics and games. Magic: the Gathering, board games, and pen & paper RPGs such as Shadowrun have a special place in my heart.
I've always had this creative urge, but never really took the time to nurture it and actually produce something of which I could be proud. Well, with a sudden lack of human interaction, I've decided to try and push myself a smidgeon in the direction of "somewhat competent" artist.
It is with this goal in mind that I finally use my DeviantArt account for more than just stalking my artistic betters, and hopefully can graduate beyond simple line drawings.

Favourite Movies
Well the awkward part is how few movies I've actually seen. I tend to gravitate towards humor, sci-fi, and animation. Carpenter's The Thing is probably tops for me at the moment.
Favourite TV Shows
Also awkward is how little TV I watch. I've a serious crush on HBO's From the Earth to the Moon, Firefly, Doctor Who, and just about any cartoon from the mid 90's to the early 2000's.
Favourite Bands / Musical Artists
A lot! Probably tops for me would be Coheed & Cambria since they were the first band to which I seriously listened. Typically, I like Metal, Rock, Folk, and/or any combination of those. But I also like random stuff, so feel free to throw something my way!
Favourite Books
I'm ashamed to say I don't read traditional books all that much! If I had to pick, it'd probably be comics/graphic novels, of which I'd choose Atomic Robo and One Piece. (Healthy doses of Calvin & Hobbes and Transmetropolitan as well.)
Favourite Games
Finally, a category I can actually fill in shamelessly! I dig on platformers, strategy RPGs, and Nintendo. All-stars include Banjo Kazooie, Final Fantasy Tactics, Metroid (anything), and Paper Mario.
Favourite Gaming Platform
Nintendo handhelds.
Tools of the Trade
A buddy's old Wacom Bamboo and a 2009 iMac, plus some non-Gimp Photoshop alternative.
Other Interests
Hobby games~! Magic: the Gathering, Warmachine/Hordes, and board games! Mmmm~
